Tae kwon do

Another fun opportunity for children at PCDS, is the ability to attend tae kwon do classes on our campus.  Classes begin right after the regular school day ends.  The Kick martial arts studio, of Greatwood, visits our school weekly and offers their Tiny Kicks program to PCDS students.  The one hour class includes their specially designed tae kwon do program geared toward pre schoolers.

PCDS offers the chance for your child to participate in yoga, as an after school activity.  Yoga Fitness 4 Kids, comes to our school weekly, to provide the yoga experience to our students.  The one hour class is geared to children ages 2 and up, and allows students to get the wiggles out while learning the art of yoga.

The goal of the class would allow for a musical warm-up, gross motor skills and basic tumbling. The equipment would consist of a small bar, a low beam, an enclosed vaulting station, cartwheel mats, an incline, a preschool bar, floor beam and an octagon.

Classes would be:

Tuesdays 2-3pm – for 2 and 3 years olds - Cost of $45 per month

Thursdays 2-3pm - for 4 and 5 year olds - Cost of $45 per month

Class sizes: No more than 12 children to a class

Location: Parkway UMC Worship Center (the gym next door to the School building)

Our Instructor:

Martha Mazeika Hubbard served as the General Manager and coach of the Houston Gymnastics Academy for over 20 years. Houston Gymnastics has a combined 50 years of successful gymnastics education and high-quality training. HGA is a distinguished club that has been in business since 1984 and is a proud member of USAG, the governing body of gymnastics. speech therapy

I am very excited that Parkway Children’s Day School will be offering my full-service speech pathology services for your children. I began my practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in New Jersey in 1996 and relocated to the Houston area in 1998. Over the past 12 years in Houston, I have provided speech and language services in both a private practice setting and local area schools including The Village School and The West Houston JCC. I feel privileged that I get to offer that experience to Parkway Children’s Day School.

At Parkway, I will be providing services including initial screenings, diagnostic evaluations and therapies for:

-Language Development (improving use of age appropriate words/sentences, vocabulary, and grammar)

-Articulation (the ability to produce and pronounce correct speech sounds)

-Auditory Comprehension (following directions, memory skills, auditory processing)

-Fluency (stuttering, hesitations, use of repetitions)

-Voice (hoarseness, breathiness)

-Academic Skills (reading, writing, spelling)

I look forward to giving every child I work with the gift of communication, and I pledge to do it with all the care and attention that they each deserve. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or to set up an appointment.
