Our Stay Safe Protocols

We prayerfully made the decision that we should go forward with our summer program with the thought in mind that if your child could only have one key activity this summer, we wanted it to be one that taught them about God and pointed them to Jesus. We will all have to work together to make it possible for us to host Kids Adventures in a way that is safe for the children and for our staff. It must be understood that we are prepared to shut down the program at a moment's notice should community circumstances require it.

If your child/family is going to regularly be in contact with large groups of people where strict adherence to social safety protocols is not occuring, we respectfully ask you NOT to place your child in Kids Adventures. We will all feel safer if we know we are caring for each other by keeping our distances, washing our hands, masking up where appropriate, AND by limiting our peripheral contacts as much as possible.

  • Group Sizes

    • Children are grouped 5 to a leader (some days there may be 6 children in the group)
    • Two groups max go to stations such as science, craft/art, game
    • Four groups max go to assembly meeting rooms - each group of 5 has their own designated space
    • Children have their own personal craft / activity kits to minimize sharing of items that cannot be readily sanitized between uses
    • Daily max of 70 children in the program, which is about 60% of our usual capacity
  • Building access and usage

    • To restrict the overall number of people in the building, the front doors will be locked during the program. Any visitor to the building can gain access only through receptionist
    • Parents are not walking children into building - all children will check in and out through curbside carpool
    • The indoor climbing tubes and arcade are closed for the summer
    • If parent needs to reach us during the day call 281-494-5050 ext. 110 or text 281-732-3985 (Mrs. Valerie) and make sure to tell us the name of the child
  • Healthy Habits

    • Rapid Temperature Check and confirmation of the Covid-19 questions will take place before children are released to us from the car. Temperature above 100* disqualifies all siblings from attending that day.
    • If a child develops symptoms of sickness they will immediately be removed from the group and comforted/cared for in the isolation room while waiting for parent/caretaker to pick them up.
    • Handwashing/sanitizing time is built into the schedule before/after activities involving food, use of restroom, handling items such as balls that may have been touched by another person, etc.
  • what to pack for each day

    • Lunch, snack, water bottle with name clearly labeled (you may also send juice but please make sure each child is sent with water). Water fountains will only be used for refilling bottles
    • Complete change of clothes if child is even remotely at risk for a potty accident
    • Hat, sunglasses (name clearly labeled), apply sunscreen before leaving home
    • DO NOT bring toys from home - we cannot manage keeping them sanitized
    • Tinies must provide a ziplock bag that we can store their soothing/comfort items
    • Please use the white Family Bag we have provided to  you to pack all lunches and water bottles and have this on the front seat, ready to hand to us at carpool. We will hand it back to you at end of the day pick up
    • Baggy containing name tags for all children
  • Carpool procedures

    • Your family has been assigned a specific carpool for check in and pick up
    • The Red and Green carpool vehicles enter and exit from the New Territory Blvd. entrance
    • The Yellow carpool vehicles enter and exit from the Homeward Way entrance
    • No cars park or back up. You will always be able to pull forward to leave
    • A member of our staff will take no-contact temperatures of all children who are attending, ask the driver the Covid-19 Screening questions, clear the children to attend for the day,  unbuckle any child who cannot release their own car seat restraints, and help the children exit the vehicle.
    • Helpers will take the baggy of name tags from you and place them on each child as they exit the vehicle.  Helpers will take the Family Bag from you. Helpers will escort Tinies and 4 year olds to their classrooms, older children to their group leaders who are stationed in the NO-DRIVE area of the parking lot
    • Families arriving after CarPool has been shut down use the drive through closest to the Ministry Center and wait for a staff member to come outside to screen and check in the children. If you will be later than 10:10 please text 281-732-3985 with family name and expected arrival time so we can watch for you.
    • End of day procedures are the same - we will return the Family Bag to you, place child in carseat and secure the restraints, but we encourage you to pull off after you clear the carpool lane and check the restraints/give your child a hug!
    • Please prepare your children that the Health Screener who will take their temperature will be wearing a face mask.
