Harvey Flood Recovery - How You can Help

  • "Attack Poverty: Friends of North Rosenberg" - home repairs

We have partnered with Attack Poverty: Friends of North Rosenberg to help families rebuild their homes after Hurricane Harvey. Hurricane Harvey flooded thousands of homes in our area and affected all of us. The record rainfall, raising floodwaters, and loss of property is historical for this area. To date, 1,721 volunteers have worked a total of 10,169 hours on 230 projects, including: 333 assessments, 114 clean outs, sanitized 109 homes, demolished 3 homes and repaired 4 homes. We will continue our flood recovery repair and rebuilding work in the communities we serve!

Do you ever wonder how many homes Jesus helped build or repair? As a Carpenter, he would be among the first person that people-in-need would call on. That is the role you can fill; being God’s hands and face, as we help our neighbors rebuild their homes and lives. We have been invited to join a regular rebuild effort happening every other Saturday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, and as needed if you have a large group of volunteers wanting to help in the rebuilding effort. The skills that are needed most include enthusiasm and willingness to love on our Neighbors; everything else can be learned.

To volunteer, please contact Faith Guerrero at 832-471-6090, faith@attackpoverty.org.  They meet at Friends of North Rosenberg, 503 3rd St, Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Parkway has opened its doors to host out of town groups that want to come to help with flood recovery in our community. We will be hosting several groups at our church throughout the year. At this time we are scheduled to host groups March 23-28, April 14-21 and August 2-7.  We will need volunteers to help provide dinners.

If you do not see a sign-up for specific dates, please check back as the date gets closer.
